April 17 (Reuters) - The List of the 12 referees for the European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland in June who attended a four-day workshop at their Euro 2008 base in the Swiss town of Regensdorf near Zurich are:
REGENSDORF, Switzerland, April 17 (Reuters) - Referees at Euro 2008 will come down hard on players who use excessive force or show dissent if they follow instructions they were given on Thursday.
The 12 referees who will officiate at the June tournament in Austria and Switzerland were handed a six-point list of instructions at the end of a four-day workshop at their Euro 2008 base near Zurich.
The instructions, compiled by European soccer’s governing body UEFA, order referees to “act firmly (red card) against challenges involving excessive force…including the illegal use of arms and elbows.”
BERLIN, March 27 (Reuters) - Turkey midfielder Hamit Altintop is likely to miss the rest of the season and is also doubtful for Euro 2008 after suffering a broken metatarsal.
ATHENS, March 29 (Reuters) - Greece coach Otto Rehhagel on Saturday extended his contract with the European champions until the 2010 World Cup, Greek Football Association president Vassilis Gagatsis told reporters. ‘It was a brief meeting and very easy because Mr Rehhagel wanted to stay on,’ Gagatsis told reporters after the deal was struck.

VIENNA, March 31 (Reuters) - Euro 2008 organisers have asked countries to try to impose travel bans on hooligans to stop troublemakers reaching June’s tournament in Austria and Switzerland, Austria’s interior minister said on Monday.
Philipp Lahm has warned that Germany will be “an even better team” at UEFA EURO 2008™, despite registering an impressive 4-0 victory over co-hosts Switzerland in Basel on Wednesday.
